Science Class Response

The owl pellet project was very interesting. The owl usually preys on mice, shrews, voles, and small birds. The stomach absorbs the nutrients but doesnt break down the bones. The undigested bones are then regurgitated in a pellet. I thought it was interesting because you could remove the bones and construct a full skeleton just from a pellet. You can do this because the bones are not digested.

Scientists have found two potential planets outside our solar system. They say that it is either a brown dwarf or a planet. A brown dwarf is a star that is to small and eventually dies out. This discovery is the first planet outside our solar system to be closely viewed by telescope. The planetarium is in Hawaii and scientists from different countries are working on it. I think it is important to figure out wether this is a planer or not because there may be another solar system out there.

Science Current Event

The wolves in the Yellowstone National Park are keeping the Pronghorn population in tact. They are killing coyotes which eat Pronghorn fawns. This is helping the debate over wether to remove wolves from the park or to keep them there. The Pronghorn are a unique animal and I think they should keep the wolves in the park to protect the pronghorn from going extinct.

Summer Reading Question (literature)

I can connect because I get blamed for doing things and I do not like it. Also because I greatly dislike when people ruin things that I work hard on.

Literature Bullying Question

I think we are not able to stop bullying because people are scared they will get bullied more if they try to stop it. This relates to Slakes Limbo because Slake is betting bullied so instead of trying to stop it he runs away. He does this because he is scared he will get bullied more if he tries to stop people from bullying him.
